Look closely. Yes, that is a cush-drive rear that has replaced the original Eldorado unit. This requires the rear brake to be changed as well. Which means I have a total of 6 leading shoes of eyeball popping braking power (it helps to imagine how hard I am laughing while I am typing this). It also means that this is going to be a bitch to keep from rolling backwards when stopped on a hill (leading shoes work really well. But only in one direction. They are good for fuck-all going backwards). This shot is prior to the floorboards being ditched. The pipes and mufflers are original. Not perfect but servicable after a little cleaning. Which pretty much describes this whole project. We changed parts where there was a perfomance or durabillity benefit (better brakes, deep spline clutch. cush drive, etc), but left everything that was still functional alone. This is far from a perfect bike, but it should be a real nice runner, scuffs and all. Cheers.
